How google and yahoo have their own web hosts?

I want to start a corporation without using other company web hosts. How i use my own web hosts.

1. If you dont know anything about this subject - how do you plan to start a internet corporation if thats what you are planning . Otherwise you need a computer server to run your website and an internet connection, a fixed ip address and a domain name need more help feel free to write me.
2. Get an internet connection, from a Tier 1 provider. Phone company, etc. Get a server. Because you are small and probably doing this from home, get a decent computer with plenty of ram and a fast hard disk system, no ATI or Nvidia 3d graphics necessary, and put RedHat Linux on it. That's the easiest way to go. Then learn how to use Samba, apache, wuftpd, Perl, PHP, and my personal favorite MySQL. Or buy an appliance that has all these features. Most appliances are poor at this. (I have one). But you must match your server to your workload.
