Any Good Web Hosts Like Mac?

Are there any good web site hosts out there that have a free-form website 'template' like Mac does (drag, drop, and resize ect.), but offer a domain name such as www.kfwine.com instead of www.mac.com/kfwine? Also, one that will include the website in Google searches, ect. A good answer with a link to a website from that host (or other sample) or a free trial will earn a thumbs up and best answer (11 pts) Of course, I wouldn't expect it to be free. That's probably why iWeb doesn't offer domain names. I just need something that can make attractive web pages and is user-friendly. One problem I'm having is that when I upload my own picture for a logo, the quality turns out really low - and this is on a host that I pay for. It's like MySpace, I can only edit colors and choose pre-made templates. This is for my parents' business, so I want it to be something that would grab a customer's attention and make them want to visit again. By the way, right now I'm using Network Solutions.

  1. You ALWAYS have to pay for a domain name. Yahoo sells them for $10 a year. GoDaddy is cheaper, but I don't like their tools. However a host like that is actually Yahoo. Not much space for free, but if its just a simple personal website you shouldn't need much, and you can foreword your domain to that Geocities (from yahoo) account. Or pay them money for an ok hosting account, and they give ya all kinds of tools.
  2. Hi, I use Godaddy's web host, it's I think good in a way. I had couple of time problem with my e-mail and they responded very quickly. Also the price of the hosting is good. I think it's a good place to start if you want to launch your own website. But if you think of going like big corporations you can use Networksolutions. They offer everything you need but the price will be higher compare to Godaddy. I hope you find a good hosting company. Good luck!
  3. You should be able to purchase a domain name and have it point to the .mac URL. I've done this for people I build websites for. It's called a redirect

  5. The biggest problem with mac and template based web site builders is the browser you use if you can, try different browsers with whichever template based environment you use. Internet Explorer has a mac browser now and you can also try Safari and Firefox. But lets face it template based environments prefer a pc with internet explorer. "And who can blame them!"
